Practical guides
Find a local travel companion for your time in China
A local companion can help you explore everyday places, communicate and understand what you are seeing. A good plan starts with your interests and pace, then fits the route to the available person and time.

Explain the kind of day you want
Share the city, dates, available hours and the language you want to use. Choose a few priorities, such as a neighbourhood walk, a market, everyday food or a cultural visit. Mention walking pace, mobility needs, children travelling with you and places you want to avoid. Website translations do not establish the companion's spoken languages; confirm the actual person and language before booking.
Agree a practical route and meeting point
Start with one manageable area rather than a list of distant attractions. Confirm a clear public meeting point, the finish location, planned breaks and a way to contact each other. Check weather and opening arrangements close to the date. Ask which bookings you should make yourself. Tickets, transport or services requiring a specialist provider should be identified separately, with availability and any required arrangements checked before commitment.
Make communication and changes easy
Tell the companion about food preferences and ingredients you need to avoid, then confirm details with the venue when choosing food. Agree permission before including people in photos or video. Set a plan for a late arrival, rain, a closed venue or a change of route. Companionship, translation support and a structured guided tour may involve different scopes; write down which activities are actually agreed.
ILLUSTRATIVE REQUEST · NOT A CUSTOMER STORY
Example: a relaxed neighbourhood and food-market walk
We are two visitors spending an afternoon in Changsha. We would like an easy-paced neighbourhood walk, explanations of everyday customs and help asking about local snacks. Please suggest a public meeting point, a rest stop and a rainy-day alternative. We will pay our own transport and food, with any companion expenses agreed first. This describes a possible outing, not an existing customer booking.
What to confirm in the quote
Ask what the agreed hours cover and how extra time or itinerary changes are handled. Confirm the companion's travel, transport, meals, tickets and any pre-booked activities separately. Availability outside the team's base depends on the location and travel arrangements. Agree cancellation or rescheduling terms directly before paying.
